Adding a UU Voice of Love & Justice in the Virginia Legislature
B O A R D  of  D I R E C T O R S

A core group of Northern Virginia
UUs who have been involved in
    the effort to organize Northern
Virginia UUs to continue to build a
    progressive faith-based presence
    in the Virginia Legislature have
    become the first NoVA LUUP
Board of Directors in July, 2009.

          The NoVA LUUP
         Board of Directors:

We have adopted a set of Bylaws to guide our decision-making and
help to operate the organization smoothly. The Board's members
are the NoVA LUUP "evangelists" in their congregations.

The Board needs, wants, and is actively seeking additional members
from the Shenandoah, Loudoun, and Sterling Unitarian Universalist
congregations. If you are a member at one of these congregations
and would like to serve on the Board, contact NoVA LUUP.

Contributing significantly have been Claire Brown, Accotink
UU Church, and Georgeta Pourchot, from the Mount Vernon
Unitarian Church, and for a time, Ed Jaffe, from the Accotink UU.
NoVA LUUP is thankful for their contribution to the effort to build
    this organization.

If you know any of these people -- thank them for their work to
build our beloved community in Northern Virginia, and ask how you
can jump in and add your talents to the effort!
And if you wonder why we need a UU advocacy organization when
there are already so many groups advocating for social justice --
think about the special role that faith based advocates have.
And ask yourself -- who are the other "progressive" faith-based
advocacy organizations working on LGBT & Choice issues, our core
    agenda items.
If you know of any other organized progressive faith-based
advocacy groups -- let us know! We want to work with them, but
so far, we haven't identified any others, and that's why we press
on to organize our fellow NoVA UUs.
