Northern Virginia Legislative
Unitarian Universalist Priorities
Adding a UU Voice of Love & Justice in the Virginia Legislature
2009

    Our Partners

NoVA LUUP is fortunate to have
    outstanding statewide partners who
    generously lend their expertise,
knowledge, and moral support to our
growing effort to build a statewide
    Unitarian Universalist legislative network.

     Our partners include:

Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy: VIC has helped NoVA LUUP
from our very beginning. Executive Director Rev. Doug Smith has
travelled from Richmond to brief NoVA UU's for each of our Legislative
Previews in both 2007 & 2008. He is widely known to have the
deepest knowledge of the sometimes arcane Virginia
Legislature, and is responsible for building the strongest progressive
faith-based advocacy group in the state. NoVA LUUP is indebted to
both him and the entire VICPP staff, and we look forward to working
    together many years to come.

NARAL-Virginia: Once we looked into the national NARAL ranking of
states most hostile to women's reproductive justice, and found that
Virginia receives an "F," NoVA LUUP decided our UU Principle that calls
us to use the right of conscience and the democratic process within
our congregations and in society at large, was reason enough to
stand to protect the reproductive rights of all. NoVA LUUP is thankful
to partner with such an important and knowledgeable group.

Equality Virginia: As Unitarian Universalists, we stand on the side of
love against all prejudice. With its extensive network of people and
knowledge, Equality Virginia helps us to work effectively for Lesbian,
Bisexual, Gay, and Transgender people. NoVA LUUP would be much
less without Equality  Virginia, which is certainly one of the most
important civil rights organizations in the Commonwealth.
